About Angela
My Story
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 21 years of age when during this time I was admitted into hospital a total of six times in a six month period due to having one relapse after another. I was required to have lots of tests, medications, intense physiotherapy and eventually a weekly injection to help manage the condition. At this point I was devastated. I was finally working in my dream job within the travel industry and my career aspirations were all taken away from me in an instant, along with my amazing social life and everything else that came along with a young woman living life to the full in her 20's.
Not knowing anything different I had followed the medical advice that had been given to me along with all the medications that had gone along with it for over 20 years. A few of these drugs have destroyed my health (I can't help but see it this way) and I am now healing and following a natural route to reverse what has been done to my body.
I found my wonderful reiki healer in 2013 when I had another bad relapse, because I was in such a dark and desperate place both physically and mentally. Without a doubt this healing energy has completely changed my life for the better. The healing I have experienced has been so profound and so life changing I want to now share my story and healing experiences with others and it is my new dream to teach Reiki to others who can help themselves like I have.

About Chiyu Reiki
The word "Chiyu" means "Healing" in Japanese - where Reiki originated - and this is exactly what it has done for me. After leaving my cruise company job of 15 years I wanted to help others and share the amazing benefits of Reiki. I offer Reiki and Crystal therapies to individual clients with a range of health issues or conditions, as well as those who are well and want to stay that way, or are in need of balancing, nurturing, pain relief, deep relaxation or positivity.
Teaching Reiki
It is now a dream come true that I am able to teach Reiki to others who have a chronic illness so that they can help themselves, as I have. I also offer this to those drawn to learn Reiki, therapists who would like to add to their current practice, and those who want to heal themselves and their loved ones.
Credentials & Workshops
I am a member of the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM) and an accredited Animal Reiki Practitioner. I also run Reiki Workshops for those who would like to learn more about what Reiki is and how this energy therapy can be used in everyday life.
Crystals
Crystals are a huge part of our Reiki therapy sessions. Chiyu Reiki also sells individual crystals, bespoke crystal sets, crystal embedded candles and pendulums - complete with holistic advice and support, along with cleansing, charging, grounding and protection techniques tailored to your individual needs.
Understanding Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient method of healing developed in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui early in the 1900s, although it has been noted in history as far back as 276 BC. The word "Reiki" is pronounced Ray Key and translates into "free flow of universal energy." The first syllable REI means "Universal." The second syllable KI means "Life force energy." Everything that is alive contains and radiates this life force energy.
Reiki energy goes to the deepest levels of a person's being where illnesses have their origin. It works wherever the recipient needs it most, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a state of balance. Reiki works on the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual levels of our being. On the Physical level it helps balance the body enabling it to heal itself. On the Mental level, clarity becomes a part of everyday life. On the Emotional level the ups and downs of life become more manageable, and on the Spiritual level it is much easier to meditate and listen to the inner voice.
Reiki is not a Religion and is not affiliated to any Religion. Once attuned to Reiki, all you need to do is place your hands on someone with the intention of helping them and it will flow. Reiki assists the recipient's ability to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing and helps them make changes in their lifestyle to promote a happier, healthier life.
All Reiki techniques are part of a lineage that has been passed down from teacher to student. As the Reiki Practitioner, I do not heal - the person receiving the energy heals themselves. The Reiki Practitioner is simply the channel through which the energy passes.
As with all alternative healing, Reiki should not be used as a substitute for orthodox medicine. It is never advised that any person receiving alternative therapies should stop their medical treatments.

Your First Visit
What to Expect During Your First Reiki Session
You will be made welcome at our treatment room where I will introduce myself and tell you about my story and how I found the amazing benefits of Reiki, along with my personal journey which brought me to where I am today.
I will find out a little about you, what has drawn you to Reiki, and I will answer any questions you may have. Together we will discuss what you would like to receive from your Reiki and Crystal session - physically and emotionally - and we will set any intentions and manifestations that the Reiki can help with, not just during your session but going forward too.
We will look at and select the best crystals for your individual needs on that day. The crystals chosen can enhance your Reiki being received, and the Reiki can enhance the healing benefits of the crystals.
You will relax on the treatment bed, fully clothed, and the selected crystals will be placed under and around you. Your session will begin with the beautiful sound of a Tibetan Singing Bowl - gifted to me by my Reiki Master Teacher.
Gentle, relaxing music will follow and the truly amazing Reiki energy will flow through my hands as I place them over your eyes and head, then during the 45-minute treatment Reiki will be given to different areas of your body working all the way down to your feet.
At the end of your session you will feel relaxed, balanced and nurtured, along with feeling at peace and energised all at the same time. I will advise that you drink water regularly for the rest of the day to clear away any stagnant energy or unwanted toxins.
You will be given feedback from your session and holistic advice where appropriate. You can also receive a "Message from Spirit" card if you wish. As with all sessions, I will follow up with you the following day to answer any questions you may have.

Because I know how every day can be different to the previous, and even our health in the mornings can differ from the evenings, my one and a half day Reiki course can be adjusted to fit in with you and your needs. I will be with you right from the beginning of your Reiki journey and will always be there to help and guide you.
I can fit in with you and around your health — whether that means visiting you at your choice of location, extending the duration of the course, or splitting it into more dates. Because I have been poorly myself, I completely understand how you may be feeling. So there is no pressure — we can do the course together at your own speed and at the preferred time of day to suit you. I am completely flexible for you, the student.

Animal Healing
Pet & Animal Reiki
As an accredited Animal Reiki Practitioner, I visit animals and pets in their own homes or within their own fields. If a pet or animal is anxious, doesn't like strangers, or their location is too far away, I can also send Reiki to them distantly.
Animals can suffer from health conditions and illnesses just like us - injuries, allergic reactions, stress, depression, bereavement and the aches and pains that come with age. Reiki can benefit the mind, body and spirit of animals, helping with wellbeing and behavioural issues. It really is a beautiful and special thing to be able to give Reiki to animals.

Remote Healing
Distance Reiki
Distance Reiki is ideal for those who cannot or prefer not to visit a Reiki Practitioner in person, and also for animals who do not like to be touched or to be near strangers. A Distance Reiki Healing session is a bit like connecting with you remotely over the internet - but with no internet connection needed.
As a Reiki Practitioner I am taught how to send Distance Reiki Healing to anyone, anywhere, at any time - by setting up energetic links, connecting with the client and directing thought and energy to that person or animal wherever they may be. When I send Distance Reiki I work with the recipient's photo and location and also set up a healing crystal grid to enhance the healing being sent. The benefits are just the same as a one-on-one session.
What to Expect with a Distance Reiki Session
Prior to your appointment we will speak by phone, messenger or email and a consultation form will be completed. We will discuss any health concerns and I will answer your questions. At our agreed time I will send the Reiki energy remotely - you do not need to do anything. You can relax at home or even be out and about.
You may feel the energy being sent, see colours or visualisations, feel warmth, cold or tingling in areas of your body - or you may feel nothing at all. Approximately 30 minutes later I will message to confirm your session has ended and we will discuss how you felt. I will share what I picked up during the treatment, offer holistic advice and follow up with you the following day.

Integrated Energy Therapy & Space Clearing
Integrated Energy Therapy (IET)
As an IET therapist I work with the "Integration Channel" - a channel that serves to balance the energy of the body's cellular memory. The objective of IET is to provide a simple and gentle way to open the flow of vital life force within the human body and the human energy field by integrating suppressed feelings from cellular memory and clearing their associated energy blockages.
Energy blockages limit our experience of life and can result in lack of spontaneity, energy depletion and even disease. Common causes include physical trauma, surgery, emotional crisis, suppressed feelings, stress, fear and self-limiting thoughts.
Through two techniques - Energising and Integrating - I channel Integrated Energy through designated hand placements (similar to Reiki) to systematically flood areas of cellular memory, supporting the body's natural ability to re-establish proper energetic balance. Founded by Stevan J. Thayer.

Room & Space Energy Clearing
Chiyu Reiki and Natural Wellness offers Room and Space Clearing to help you move forward from any negative energy influences in your surroundings. I will visit your location and use a range of methods to cleanse and purify your environment, creating a happier, more balanced space with a more positive flow of energy.
Our homes, living spaces and working environments can make us feel out of sorts, unmotivated or even unwell if we are susceptible to picking up negative influences. This is especially important after energy healing sessions, if you have moved into a new home, or where past arguments or difficult events have occurred.
